Biography

Pablo García-Ortiz was born in Ibiza (Balearic Islands) in 2005. At the age of 5 he received his first piano lessons and at the age of 7 he continued his musical studies at the Patronato Municipal de Música de Ibiza specializing in Flute. Later, he studied piano, clarinet and violin.

In 2018 he performed his first concert as a soloist and was part of the Ibiza Youth Orchestra. In addition, at the end of this year he participated as a singer in the Christmas concert of the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra. In 2019 he conducts on several occasions the Band and the Orchestra of students of the Patronato Municipal de Música de Ibiza.


In the year 2020 he studies harmony and piano with Professor Miguel San Miguel. That same year he entered the Ibiza Professional Conservatory of Music specializing in flute and piano.

In 2021 he conducts the Professional Choir of the Ibiza Professional Conservatory of Music and he collaborates as string leader in the Coro Ciudad de Ibiza.

In 2022 he premiered his first composition with Banda Sinfónica Ciudad de Ibiza, being himself the conductor. That same year he performs again as a soloist interpreting his own arrangement for band of the Ballade for flute and orchestra by C. Reinecke. He also collaborates as a flutist in the Petita Simfonica de Baleares in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, obtaining a special mention to participate as a flutist in a seasonal concert of the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra.

In 2023 he premiered his Ave Maria for choir and some chamber music works, among which are ''La perfidia de las abejas'' for voice, flute and piano, a duet for flute and clarinet and twelve-tone variations on ''Dies Irae'' for chamber instrumental ensemble. He also finished his professional flute and piano studies, obtaining the highest grade in all subjects and and obtaining the extraordinary awards of the Balearic Islands in flute and fundamentals of composition.

Nowadays, he is studying orchestra and choir conducting at Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) with maestros Salvador Brotons and Josep Vila i Casañas.
