Pablo García-Ortiz is a young conductor, composer, flutist, and pianist born in Ibiza (Balearic Islands) in 2005.
He has conducted numerous ensembles, including the Vallès Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Ibiza City Wind Symphony, the Prat Philharmonic Union Choir, the Ibiza City Choir, and the Brafa Foundation Choir. He has also collaborated occasionally with groups such as the ESMUC Saxophone Ensemble, the Llucmajor Chamber Ensemble, the Choir of the Professional Conservatory of Music of Ibiza, and the Student Orchestra of the Patronato Municipal de Música de Ibiza.
As a conductor, he has accompanied soloists such as flutist Virginia Tato Moreno and saxophonist Ismael Arroyo. In the field of opera, he conducted the two premiere performances of ContraTemps, an opera by composer Stephanie Macchi.
As an assistant conductor, he has worked with orchestras such as the Vallès Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Ibiza Youth Symphony Orchestra, assisting maestros including Xavier Puig Ortiz, Manel Valdivieso, and Ernest Martínez-Izquierdo.
As a flutist and pianist, he has performed with various orchestras, both professional and youth ensembles, including the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands (flute), the Vallès Symphony Orchestra (piano), the Youth Orchestra of the Girona Regions (flute), the Ibiza Youth Symphony Orchestra (flute), and the Petita Simfònica of the Balearic Islands (flute).
He has performed in halls such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, L’Auditori de Barcelona, the Teatre La Faràndula in Sabadell, the Auditorium of Palma, the Auditori de Manacor, the Auditori Cèntric in El Prat, and the Can Ventosa Theatre in Ibiza.
As a composer, he has premiered numerous works and arrangements for orchestra, wind band, choir, and chamber ensembles with groups such as the Ibiza City Symphonic Band, the Lakeshore Symphonic Band, the Ibiza City Choir, and the Llucmajor Chamber Ensemble. In 2023, he was awarded the Extraordinary Prize in Fundamentals of Composition from the professional music studies of the Balearic Islands.
He completed his professional flute and piano studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Ibiza with the highest marks and was awarded the Extraordinary Prize in Flute from the professional music studies of the Balearic Islands. As a flutist, he also received first prize in 2023 in the competition of the professional music studies of the Julián Vilás Ferrer Foundation
He continued his musical education at ESMUC, where he studied flute with Vicens Prats and piano with Adolf Pla. He has also received masterclasses from flutists such as Rafael Adobas and Hervé Hotier, as well as pianists such as Carole Carniel and Miquel Estelrich.
In 2023, he began his studies in Orchestral and Choral Conducting at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) under the guidance of maestros Salvador Brotons and Josep Vila i Casañas. In 2025, he furthers his education in orchestral conducting at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, studying with maestros Ion Marin and Alexander Drčar.
